Use Apple Cider Vinegar For Healthy Skin
The skin is the largest organ of the body, and also performs many important functions. The skin not only helps eliminate waste from the body it also helps regulate body temperature.
Even though the skin provides protection from bacteria and other harmful substances it is very porous and can absorb certain substances easily. For this very reason it is very important to know what we are applying to our skin.
Many common skin products (make-up, lotion, soaps, etc) contain harsh and/or toxic chemicals. Apple Cider Vinegar taken internally and applied externally can greatly reduce and heal many common skin ailments. Apple Cider Vinegar contains Potassium, which the body needs in order to regenerate healthy tissue.
Skin Irritations
Itchy Scalp:
Mix 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with 1 cup of water in a
spray bottle. Spray the mixture
onto your hair making sure it reaches your scalp. Massage the Apple Cider Vinegar water into your scalp and
leave on for 15 minutes before washing it out. Be careful to avoid getting Apple Cider Vinegar in your eyes.
Dandruff:
Apply Apple Cider Vinegar to your scalp and massage
thoroughly. Keep the Apple Cider
Vinegar on for 30 minutes before washing it out. The Apple Cider Vinegar will help kill the bacteria and
fungus that cause dandruff and itchy scalp. Avoid getting Apple Cider Vinegar in your eyes. If you do get some in your eyes, wash them out thoroghly with fresh water for a few minutes.
Insect Bites & Stings:
Relieve the itching and pain from mosquito bites as well as wasp and bee stings by applying Apple Cider Vinegar directly to the affected area. If you get stung by a jellyfish you can use the same treatment and it will neutralize the venom as well as relieve the pain
Poison Ivy & Poison Oak:
Apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the affected area with a washcloth to relieve swelling, pain and itching.
Eczema
You can relieve the itchy, dry skin from eczema by applying a mixture of half Apple Cider Vinegar and half water to the affected areas. Additionally, you can drink 1 glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. You can add honey to the drink if you like. There is usually a potassium deficiency in those people suffering from eczema.
Burns From the Sun and Heat:
Soak a washcloth in Apple Cider Vinegar and apply as a compress to the burned area. Leave the compress on for as long as possible to relieve the pain as well as prevent itching and peeling. If you are sun burnt over a large area of your body you can take a cool bath and add 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar to the water. After the bath apply Apple Cider Vinegar directly to the burned areas. Wait for 5 minutes to let the skin dry and apply aloe vera gel.
Sore Feet:
To revive sore or fatigued feet soak them in an Apple Cider Vinegar bath. Mix warm water with 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and soak feet for 15 minutes.
Diaper Rash:
Mix half Apple Cider Vinegar and half water. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and gently wipe across the affected area. Apple Cider Vinegar will provide relief and will kill the bacteria and fungus that cause diaper rash.
Hemorrhoids:
For a mild case of hemorrhoids apply Apple Cider Vinegar directly to the affected area. Apple Cider Vinegar’s natural healing properties will reduce the stinging sensation and will promote shrinking of the hemorrhoids. Use a cotton ball to apply the Apple Cider Vinegar every few hours until symptoms are relieved.
Skin Infections & Conditions
Acne:
Apply a solution of half Apple Cider Vinegar and half water with a cotton ball several times a day. The Apple Cider Vinegar will kill the bacteria and shrink the pimple. The Potassium in Apple Cider Vinegar will also promote health skin regeneration.
Athlete’s Foot:
Athlete's foot is a fungal infection, which can be very difficult to get rid of. The most effective remedy is to soak the feet in a mixture of half Apple Cider Vinegar and half water twice a day for 10 – 15 at a time. Additionally you can apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the affected areas several times a day and before bedtime.
Body Odor:
Apple Cider Vinegar is an effective body odor remedy, since it can help adjust the skin's pH level which helps to eliminate odor-causing bacteria. For underarm odor simply apply Apple Cider Vinegar with a cotton ball each day. For foot odor soak your feet 2 or 3 times a week in a bath of warm water and 1/2 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar. If you have been chopping onions or have any strong smell on your hands, simply soak them in Apple Cider Vinegar for a couple of minutes.
Shingles:
Apple Cider Vinegar relieves the pain from shingles. Apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the affected area up to 6 times a day to promote healing. Additionally, you can drink 1 glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. You can add honey to the drink if you like.
Improve The Skin’s Appearance
Age Spots:
Apple Cider Vinegar contains sulfur that fights the effects of aging, and makes it suitable for treating age spots. Mix up a solution of 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with 1 teaspoon of onion juice. Apply this mixture to the darkened spots on the skin every day. The spots will begin to lighten and fade in about 2 weeks.
Brittle Nails:
If your nails are cracked, brittle and fragile then your body may be deficient in Potassium. Apple Cider Vinegar is loaded with Potassium and can remedy this problem. Drink 1 glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. You can add honey to the drink if you like. This will also eliminate any white spots that appear on your nails.
Bruises:
Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in 1/2 cup of warm Apple Cider Vinegar and apply it to the bruise as a compress.
Cellulite:
Mix 3 parts of Apple Cider Vinegar with one part of your favorite massage oil. Massage this into your skin with cellulite twice a day. Additionally, you can drink 1 glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. You can add honey to the drink if you like.
Corns & Calluses:
Soak your feet in a warm bath of water and 1/2 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar for 30 minutes. Rub the affected areas with a clean pumice stone. After rinsing off the sloughed off skin apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the area and cover with a bandage. Reapply Apple Cider Vinegar and bandage the next morning.
Warts:
Apply an Apple Cider Vinegar soaked gauze bandage to the wart overnight. In the morning replace the bandage with a castor oil soaked gauze bandage. At night alternate the Apple Cider Vinegar bandage with crushed fresh garlic and vitamin E oil.
Varicose Veins:
Gently massage Apple Cider Vinegar to the varicose veins twice a day. Drink 1 glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. You can add honey to the drink if you like. Your swollen veins will look noticeably smaller after one month of this routine.
